Serenity Scrubbie in Use

FREE CROCHET PATTERN: The Serenity Scrubbie

Do you ever get in those moods where you want to crochet something, but you don’t want to have to think too hard?…. Or at all? I know I do! My fingers are itchin’ for some stitchin’ but reading a complicated pattern just doesn’t get me going. This free crochet pattern for the Serenity Scrubbie is PERFECT for those days. It is quick (and I mean really quick!), easy, and beautiful!

I make my Serenity Scrubbies for markets and sell them in packs of 3 or 4, but you can make as many or as few as you would like! They are great for gifts, markets, or even for using up your yarn scraps!

How can you use the Serenity Scrubbie?

The Serenity Scrubbie is a great reusable alternative to any washcloth or makeup remover. Whether you use cotton or tencel yarn, they are both very absorbent but gentle on your skin. They stand up great to machine washing, which means you can make one for every day of the week, and just wash them in the laundry!

Also, I’ll be honest, they make a pretty cute coaster for your drinks too! So whichever way you want to use them!

Why I Love the Serenity Scrubbie Pattern

Like I said up above, sometimes I just really feel like crocheting something quick and mindless. It feels good to have the finished product in 15 minutes! Plus, since I am currently preparing for fall markets, these kinds of projects are really a must-have. It makes filling up inventory easy as pie!

Aside from how quick they come together, I LOVE the texture the puff stitch creates. The scrubbies are soft and drapey, but the puff stitch adds some body and the “scrubby” part of the scrubbie! I experimented with different sized puff stitches and decided to made my puffs a little smaller, but you can really make them as big as you want depending on how many times you yarn over and pull up a loop.

The Yarn

You can use any medium weight cotton or tencel yarn for this project. Technically you could use acrylic, but cotton and tencel shed less and don’t get fuzzy or pill, which I think is preferable for something you’re going to be putting on your face.

The two yarns I use are I Love This Cotton, and Yarn Bee Fresh Haven. I love their color options, and they are both SUPER soft and easy to work with!
